Project Love for a Dollar (LoveFAD) is an annual Christmas fund raising project that is close to my heart. Since its inception in 2007, we are glad to be able to continue this meaningful project with The Salvation Army, our adopted charity for the project. We have indeed been blessed by support from the public, be it in giving or in volunteering, as well as from the project support from The Salvation Army. Occasionally, kind hearted individuals will leave “nibbles” at the gift-wrapping booth and provide words of appreciation and encouragement to our volunteers. These gestures serve as both an acknowledgement as well as recognition for the effort my team has put into organizing LoveFAD. It further motivates me to grow LoveFAD from strength to strength and makes me look forward to LoveFAD every year.
We all can make a difference in another’s life. Be it giving in-kind or in cash, volunteering or even sharing a word of encouragement to our staff and volunteers, I am reminded that our investment of time, talent and resources goes on to improve and benefit someone’s life.
There is nothing more I can ask for in being able to enjoy my time gift wrapping while raising funds for the beneficiaries under The Salvation Army. After all, LoveFAD is a novel way of incorporating both my hobby in art and craft and raising funds for those who are served by The Salvation Army.
Volunteering with The Salvation Army is truly time well and meaningfully spent and I will keep coming back for more volunteering opportunities!"

Project LoveFADNicole serves as a volunteer leader in LoveFAD. She works closely with fellow volunteer leaders, as well as with The Salvation Army, malls, funders and volunteers, to run LoveFAD. Nicole graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2013 and enjoys art and craft.
